Dark circles are those shades that appear on your lower eyelids that can make you face glow less.
Taking care of the dark circles is indeed necessary and there shouldn’t be any more dark circles on your eye bags. Here are a few tips to take care of the undesired dark circles.
1. Cold Compress
When you don’t have the required amount of sleep, you get dark circles.
In the morning and the evening, apply the cold compress for at least 10 minutes in both of your eyes. You can even keep the compress in the fridge and use it the next day. Make sure that the compress is clean.
2. Cucumbers
We might have seen many ads relating to cucumbers that come for the sole purpose of dark circle removal. But do they work? Cucumbers can lighten your skin and so they can be very well used to remove dark circles.
You can try doing this twice a day. Slice a few pieces of cucumber and then refrigerate them. Keep the cool slices over your eyes and leave it for 10 minutes.
3. Cucumber Juice + Lemon Juice
Mix cucumber juice and lemon in a bowl. Use a cotton ball, soak it with the mixture and apply it over your eyelids.
Leave the skin as such for some time and then rinse with warm water.
4. Rose Water
Rosewater can renew skin properties. Soak the cotton in rose water and apply it to your eyelids. Keep it for some time and rinse.
5. Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain lycopene that can soften your skin as well as make it look lighter.
Mix two tablespoons of tomato juice with 1 tbsp of lemon juice in a bowl.
Use a cotton ball and apply it under your eye bag. Leave it on your skin for at least 10 minutes and rinse it using warm water. Do this twice a day for better results.
6. Cold tea bags
You can very well use teabags instead of a cold compresses or any other masks.
Soak the tea bags in water and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes. Place them on your eyes and leave them for 10 minutes. Do this daily for better results.
7. Potatoes
Potatoes are rich in vitamin C that enriches the skin and promotes healthy skin.
Take a potato and grate it. Extract the potato juice from it.
Now take a cotton ball and dip it in the juice. Apply it over your eyelids and leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse it using warm water.
8. Cold Milk
Milk is rich in Vitamin A that is good for eyes since they contain retinoids. Take 2 cotton makeup remover pads and soak them in cold milk.
Place them over your eyes and leave them for 10 minutes. Wash it using warm water. Do this twice a day.
9. Orange Juice
Orange juice is rich in Vitamins A and C and hence can effectively remove dark circles. Extract orange juice and add a few drops of glycerin.
Take some cotton and soak it in the mixture. Apply it over your eyelids and leave it to dry for at least 10 minutes. Rinse it with warm water.
10. Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E can fight aging and wrinkling of the skin. Before you go to bed, you can apply a drop of Vitamin E oil on your eye and give a gentle massage. Leave it overnight and rinse it the next day.
11. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can prevent wrinkling of the skin. Rub some coconut oil over your skin and leave it overnight.
Then rinse it in the morning. Do this regularly for better results.
12. Turmeric
Turmeric is a very good antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Take some turmeric powder and mix it with pineapple juice and make a thick paste.
Dab this mask under your eye bags and leave it for at least 10 minutes and then rinse it with warm water.
13. Eat More Dark Chocolate
If you are a chocolate lover, then you have good news!!! Dark chocolates contain flavonol that can protect you from UV radiation. So eating chocolate can prevent dark circles by preventing the UV rays.
14. Eat More Salmon
Salmon and walnuts contain more Omega 3 fatty acids.
These can brighten up the skin, increase the blood flow so that the pooling of blood under your skin is reduced thus reducing dark circles.
15. Reduce Salt Consumption and Drink More Water
If you want to make your eyes feel fresh, then add less salt in your food and add more water to your diet plan.
Yes… An increase in the salt content of your body can make your eyes look puffy and red thus causing dark circles to appear. Thus drink more water so that the salt gets eliminated and your eyes and skin would feel fresh.
16. Reduce Alcohol Consumption
If you are an alcoholic, then bad news awaits you!!!
Intake of more alcohol can cause swelling of eyes and there appear dark circles. You can take a maximum of two drinks and curb your practice with that.
17. Eye Massager
Dark circles also appear if there is more blood flow under your eyes.
Use a massager so that you can regularize the blood flow.
Apply your eye cream and serum and use the massager to give your eyes a gentle massage. This would reduce the dark circles under your eye.
18. Get 8 hours of sleep
Sleep is the best way to get rid of dark circles. You should at least sleep at a stretch for 8 hours if you want your face and eyes to look brighter.
19. Sleep on your back
If you have a practice of sleeping in many positions, you must listen.
The study says that when you sleep on your back, the fluids on your body don’t get accumulated on the upper side of the body and hence your eye bags get escaped from dark circles.
20. Exercise and Meditation
If you exercise regularly, it enhances the blood circulation, blood flow around your skin and prevents aging. Exercise would make you look brighter and younger with a polished skin tone.
